Under Armour (UA) has continued it’s assault on Nike, signing Australian superstar Morgan McDonald. A domain long dominated by Nike, UA are showing they mean business having already signed Luke Mathews, the 2019 Australian 1500m champion.

McDonald, a 4-time NCAA champion for the University of Wisconsin is one of Australia’s best prospects given his ability to rise for major races and his awesome finishing speed.

McDonald, 23, from Sydney is a possible rep for Australia in the 5,000 metre at the IAAF World Athletics Championships, to be held in Doha later this year.  Selection will be hard to come by with Jordan Gusman, Stewart McSweyn and a handful of other awesome Australian’s jostling for the three spots, in what is one of Australia’s best events.

Under Armour are now providing athletes who do not wish to train with Nike backed ‘Nike Oregon Project or ‘Melbourne Track Club’ a legit alternative. Hopefully we will see more high profile Aussies sign with the Baltimore based brand in coming months.

Another Aussie sensation to come rise through the NCAA ranks, Jessica Hull announced she is joining the Nike Oregon Project, a move that makes total sense for the ex-University of Oregon athlete.
