At the Potomac Valley Games last Sunday in Alexandria, Virginia, USA’s David Ortman, Charlie Allie, Thomas Jones and George Haywood set a new masters world record in the 1600-meter ((4x400m) relay for men 65 years and older. They finished in an amazing time of 4:01.03, beating the old record by more than one second.

The previous world record (4:02.62) was held by Australia’s Colin Buyers, Heinz Steinmann, Tony Ireland, Neville McIntyre, set in 2009.
