Runner’s Tribe – Abraham Kiptum of Kenyan has set a new half marathon world record of 58:18 at the Valencia half-marathon in Spain. Kiptum bettered Eritrea’s Zersenay Tadese previous world record time set in Lisbon in 2010, by 5 seconds. Ethiopian Jemal Yimer finished second, 2 seconds behind Kiptum with his countryman Abadi Hadi in third.

Only just last month, Kenyan, marathon legend, Eliud Kipchoge broke the world marathon record by running 2:01:39, 78 seconds faster than the previous best set by Kenya’s Dennis Kimetto in 2014.
