Bekele has done nearly everything there is on the track and road,  a multilpe world record holder, Olympic and World Cross Country champ, he is widely considered as one of the greatest distance runners to ever live.  He first won in Berlin back in 2016, when he clocked 2:03:03.  But it was 2019 when he astonished the world, on that famous day he stopped the clock at 2:01:41, smashing the Ethiopian record and coming within two seconds of Eliud Kipchoge’s world record.

Since that famed race in 2019 Bekele has been quiet, he won the 2020 Big Half in London clocking 1:00:22.  He has battling injuries, he is 39 years-old after all.

But one thing is for sure when it comes to Bekele; he knows how to get fast quick, and he it totally capable of dropping PBs with no racing in the lead-up.
