The 10th edition of the Surf Coast Century is cementing its’ reputation as one of Australia's must-do ultra trail marathons, attracting a number of past winners from ultra running events across the country.
In November last year, the 165km Grampians Peaks Trail quietly opened its doors to the public. Although the name may already be familiar to a few Melbournians, particularly amongst the rock-climbing community, the Grampians otherwise tends to slip under the radar as a place for some truly brilliant trail running.

Competitors in the Surf Coast Century presented by MINI saw their dreams become a reality over the weekend in one of the first mass-participation events post-COVID-19 in Victoria.
Jim Walmsley, the accomplished ultrarunner who recently made history with his victory at the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), continues to astound the world of endurance sports. In another extraordinary feat, he secured the top position at the 115K Roubion-Nice race hosted at Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB, crossing the challenging course in an impressive 11 hours, 21 minutes, and 5 seconds. This win not only adds another accolade to his already illustrious career but also guarantees his entry into next year's highly anticipated Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run.
SURF COAST CENTURY
The Surf Coast Century 100km and 50km ultra trail marathon has received the green light to proceed on 5 - 6 December 2020 in Anglesea, Victoria, with limited entries remaining for solo competitors and 90 relay teams remaining
With her incredible endurance, Camille Herron has completely changed the course of women's ultramarathon running history. When the Lululemon-organized, all-female Further event came to an end on Tuesday, Herron's incredible accomplishment was on display. She broke the previous world record for the six-day ultramarathon, which Sandra Barwick had set in 1990, by more than 11 miles, with an astounding total distance of 560.33 miles.
In the heart of Western Australia's picturesque Avon Valley, the highly anticipated Transcend returns in 2024 with options for all fitness levels. Mark your calendars for 22 June, where you have the option to take part in the Kids Dash, 6km Hike, 6km Run, 40km Team Relay Hike (2-3 ppl 12/16/12km), 40km Hike, 65km Team Relay Run (2-5 ppl 12/12/12/16/12km) or the ultimate challenge, the 65km Ultra.
Entries are now open to Victoria’s premier Trail Running Series for 2022 as it returns to its usual winter and spring seasons.
kunanyi Mountain Run returns for its second year with an exceptionally strong field of 800 plus runners, including some of Australia’s fastest trail runners. With automatic spots up for grabs for the Australian team at the 2023 World Trail and Mountain Championships and the 2024 Skyrunning World Champs, the Ultra 67km and Vertical Kilometre have quickly made the event a huge drawcard.
