Keely Hodgkinson, an Olympic 800m silver medallist, made history on Friday night by breaking the long-standing world record for 600m at the Bryggen Sports event in Manchester. This was the third British record to be broken in 24 hours, following Dina Asher-Smith and Sam Atkin's achievements. Hodgkinson clocked 1:23.41, beating the previous record of 1:23.44 set by Olga Kotlyarova of Russia in 2004. She was accompanied by pacemaker Issy Boffey, who had earlier won the women's 800m.

Nuguse dominated the race, finishing more than three seconds ahead of the competition and pulling five other runners under the 7:40 m. Nuguse covered the final mile in 3:56.96.
