The 2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon has been canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, event organisers announced Monday. Due to be held on October 11, it was announced on Monday night that the Chicago event of 45,000 runners would not be staged “out of concern for the safety of event participants, volunteers, event staff and spectators”.
A three-year journey of heroism and burgeoning might on the road to the Tokyo Olympic Games by the internationally renowned Athlete Refugee Team has been captured in an emotionally-charged full length documentary feature considered to be the first production of its kind. The 90-minute film produced by On, the Swiss sportswear company and Hungry Man Productions, will be released on World Refugee Day to commemorate the more than 70 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.

Kenya’s Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage has placed a one-month international travel ban on their athletes. On March 9, a letter was sent informing presidents of all Kenyan sporting organizations that their athletes will not be permitted to travel to international competitions for the “safeguard of the public and the country at large.”
Joshua Cheptegei (UGA) has set a new world record on the 5km this morning in Monaco. Cheptegei finished the Monaco Run 5km in a time of 12 minutes and 51 seconds and by doing so took an impressive 27 seconds of the previous world record set by Rhonex Kipruto (KEN) which stood at 13:18.
