BAA Street Invitational Mile, Boston 15 April: Nick Willis in his first race in eight months won in a sprint finish in 4:13.2. Willis, two time winner of the event, said that it didn’t feel as easy as it has been when he won this race before. “The turnover was there, but holding top speed was a bit more difficult,” he said.

After his Rio Olympic Games 1500m silver medal, Willis opted to take time off “to give my mind and my body a chance to recover.” Hence his racing dearth in the months since.
“I was struggling a little bit,” he revealed, “but, I’m not worried about that. The main thing is to get ready for London (August’s World Championships). There’s plenty of time.”
