Hey RT

Training has been going really well and we have been able to work on some areas of my race which I hadn’t been executing properly. I have just had two races at the Gold Coast which allowed me to test it under race situation. Technically the racing was really solid, although my speed wasn’t quite there, which considering I have still been doing quite heavy training was to be expected. I am really excited now to do my next block of training and work on some other areas we feel have improvement. We have already done some season planning and I am feeling really happy about everything to come.
I had investigated the possibility of heading overseas to do some meets, but as it was all going to be a bit rushed, we decided that I would stay home and keep the trip as a plan for 2011. So now I get to stay home and train in winter! Actually, I really do enjoy training at this time of year because it means we can build on the things needed to have an even better season next year. I have come so far in the last 12 months and we still have so many things to work on so I can now knuckle down to achieve even more.

Some other exciting news is that I am now receiving some additional support as an athlete. My employers at Simons Carpet Choice have always been so supportive with allowing me to have time off wherever I need, and Jump Start to London 2012 are still a fantastic support to me and my coach. Now I have also been accepted for a scholarship with NSWIS which gives me more access to testing/support in addition to Jump Start. And last but definitely not least, I am now a Brand Ambassador with Mizuno Australia. I am so excited to join up with Mizuno. They are now starting to branch out in Australia, and I have already been able to test out their shoes and I love them. They have a fantastic new range of clothing coming out and I am sure everyone will be as impressed as I am. It is nice to have the support of a progressive company and I feel that with Mizuno being a developing company here in Australia, it is the perfect fit for me.
Well back to the training track now...
