Leonora Golden Gift 2010 - Australia's Richest Mile

Location: Leonora,  West Australia outback.

Australia's richest mile, the Leonora Golden Gift, is back once agan in 2010, bigger and richer than ever.

In what is becoming a personal highlight on the calendars of many of Australia's elite middle distance runners, the Golden Gift is more than a race, it is a life experience that can't be compared to any other event on the global athletics calendar.

In 2010, a few minor changes are being made to the race structure of the weekend. These include:

- The men's and women's elite mile races will be straight finals on the Saturday night.
- To qualify for the men's mile entrants must have run a national qualifying time over 1500m (3:52.00) . The qualifying period for this time is from July 1st 2009.
- There will be a 4km road race on the Sunday morning with $1000 up for grabs for the winners (men and women).

The prize money on offer for the elite men's and women's mile are as follow:

- First: $6000 plus gold nugget
- Second: $4000
- Third: $2000
- Fourth: $1500
- Fifth: $1000
- Sixth: $750
- Seventh: $500
- Eighth: $250
