Anneliese Rubie- Euro insight

Time period spent in Europe?
So far, 1 month and a bit...will end up being over 2 months
Base whilst in Europe?
Mostly Gavirate, Italy..at the new AIS training centre there. At the moment though I'm in London.
What races did you target and how did they go?
I did two 400ms, one in Pergine, Italy and one in Gent, Belgium. Ran a PB for my first race - 2nd in 53.16, and was happy with the other, as I won in 53.84.
Most enjoyable experience?
Riding up a mountain in Italy over looking a lake for 20mins in a metal, open-roof cable car, in the rain AND a lightning storm.
What was the lowest point?
When the cable car stopped.
Lessons learnt during this European experience?
Make a routine and keep it as normal as possible. It's good to get out and be a bit of a tourist, but don't over do it! Also, only take essentials...30kgs of luggage is not worth it.
